The 4000 Foundation will be hosting guided tours of The La Crosse Short Line railroad display in Copeland park. Admission is FREE and open to the public. Date/time TBD
The La Crosse Short Line railroad display consists of: Burlington steam locomotive No. 4000, built by The Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1930 for The Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad which was retired from service in 1955; Milwaukee Road caboose No. 0359, built at the Milwaukee Road West Milwaukee Shops in 1883 and retired from service in1961; and Grand Crossing Interlocking Tower built in 1928 to replace the original structure. It was retired from service and moved to Copeland Park in 1991.
